"Are you friends from way back?" a man asked after worship yesterday. "No," my host replied. "We just met yesterday."
Yet today, my host has left for almost three weeks away, while I stay in her home.
We might as well have been friends from way back, as conversation flowed easily. And more than conversation, understanding. Although we came from two different continents to this, a third, we have much in common, all the way from separating the garbage to counseling single women who have few prospects for a Christian marriage. We understand being away from family, jet lag if visiting only for a short time, the comfort of seeing God provide a place to live and car to drive with every international move, relying on the English translation of the news, and much more.
God is good!
