I've learned over the years that making Sally Lunn in winter requires setting it in the sun to rise.
My oven was kept busy all day, baking apple cake and several pans of Sally Lunn bread. One. Loaf. At. A. Time.
I returned home laden with bags full of my decorations, candles, apron, empty pans, a tablecloth, potholders, butter dishes, honey bowls, etc.
My heart was also full of memories of another celebration with the family God has given me here.
