Easter in Japan usually means...
a baptism or two or three!
a special celebratory meal! (Can we say "sushi"? My first sushi was eaten at the church meal, Easter, 1990.)
a special afternoon program!
Good Friday service (I've been to more in Japan than in the USA).
the one holiday that is ONLY a Christian holiday and has no secular trappings.
