The Outdoors is ... Open!

After a long winter's break, we are out of hibernation!!!!

One evening last week, just before bedtime, the toddlers on the street were all out playing and getting reacquainted, while we moms exclaimed about the weather.  A grandma from a few houses away saw us and came out to see everyone and exclaim about how big they had grown over the winter (it really has been awhile since we've been outside!) and to promise that she would bring her preschool-aged granddaughter to her house one day to play with the toddlers on our street.

Last Saturday I took Little Guy on an adventure to a nature center, where he could run and run and run and run some more!  While there is no plastic at the "playground" at this nature center (aka, woods, creek, etc.), we can testify that there are snakes. :-O

And Monday morning play group moved back to the park from our living room!!  (The external discipline of tidying and cleaning may hurt our sanitation levels!)  After months and months of sitting on my lap while all his friends played in our living room, Little Guy scampered off as soon as we got to the park.  First the ride-on animal, then the slide, then the firetruck, then push the toy lawnmower, and repeat!  He's learning to share with the two one-year olds, other two-year old, and three four-year olds.  And I was refreshed by talking with the other moms (as well as a grandma I hadn't seen since fall).
