1000 Gifts, Vol. 7, #31

301.  safety on slick roads on our first (& unexpected) snowy day - December 2nd

302.  a great (low-stakes) opportunity to do a size check on snow suits & boots :)

303.  s-l-o-w-l-y decorating for Christmas (festive tablecloth one day; stockings & windowsill one day; hanging balls in the doorways another; maybe one day we'll even have a tree!)

304.  the gift of an unexpected free day!! (my doctor in Chicago is ill so my appointment is being rescheduled)

305.  a leisurely day

306.  Kristyn Getty's Monday Meditation on social media (timely as we say goodbye to the house where we have so many memories):

“I’m grateful for my earthly home and the warm, family Christmastime memories that turn my mind to all that is good and true. I’m even more grateful for the unchanging message of the angels. It continues to ring through whatever feelings and circumstances we may face with the truth of a home that is only found in the Lord and will not be taken away.

CS Lewis once wrote  ‘One road leads home and a thousand roads lead into the wilderness’. May the light of that one road shine through our lives and homes this Advent season.”

307.  slowly doing some household chores & fighting the clutter

308.  reminders of God's goodness

I remain confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living.

309.  cleanliness! ... a clean van, a clean bathroom, etc.  Each little space cleaned reduces stress & brings a measure of joy.

310.  a basic home-cooked meal after too many times of eating drive-through in the past 10 days!

Chicken enchilada casserole, oven roasted green beans, and fruit
