How are we?

Front and center on our refrigerator is a "Today I feel..." magnet.  (See sample here.)

Needless to say the little blue square is stuck on the top left corner:  exhausted! :)

It's not as bad as it sounds; it's just a level of exhaustion greater than we're used to operating at.

I cannot imagine having a more supportive husband -

- taking the early night shift so I can get some solid sleep from 8.30-2AM,

- going to the post office to collect our mail,

- going shopping for anything & everything,

- listening to a stay-at-home mom who sometimes has cabin fever,

- talking me back to reality (Phil. 4.8,9) when I get anxious or upset, and

- vacuuming the living room this morning on his way out the door to an early morning medical check-up before a full day of work.

And, all of the above, of course, is on top of dealing with a full-time job involving business decisions and paperwork and hogs and grain in the bitter cold temperatures!

We're Ho-ome!!

We are home, after leaving suddenly and being away almost six weeks.

The phone call came.
We said, "Yes."
We started driving out-of-state.
We waited.
We arrived at the hospital, signed (& had notarized) bunches of papers in the lobby, went upstairs, met our son ?!?!, carried him out, and drove off to our temporary home.
We waited some more.
We signed (& had notarized) more papers.
We drove home.

That is the short story.

The long story is that God showed Himself faithful, as He guided us, sustained us, provided what we needed, protected us, and brought a child into our lives.

If you are one who prayed the past few years for this day to come, "Thank you!"

If you want more details or pictures, and I know you, send an email to naughtbutgood at gmail dot com (or my personal email if you know it).

We'd love it if you would join us in praying for this precious boy's heart to love Jesus all his days!
