I arrived early for the burial in the family cemetery on a neighboring farm and had time to wait ... time to stand on the hilltop ... time to look around ... time to take in the scenery of my past ... time to remember the countless times I tramped over these hillsides with my dad searching for a mama cow and her newborn calf.
It's almost enough to cause one to start singing, "Precious memories, how they linger."
