My kanji of the year

"Fear not, for I am with you."

The Chinese character ~ or kanji ~ at the top (共) is the one I chose to be my representative kanji for 2009. It means "with."

A Japanese friend wrote it for me with a brush and ink and then added the words from Scripture, "Fear not, for I am with you."

2009 is a year of change for me, with part of the year in Japan and part of it in the U.S.A.

My prayer is that I will remember to "fear not, for He is with me."
