One Morning in the Midwest

The green light turned on at 7 AM, and Little Guy was ready to come downstairs.

At 7.30 his speech therapist called us on FaceTime, and we spent the next 60 minutes "doing our work."  When it was over, and we had already said our goodbyes, he asked her, "M---, how is your mother doing?"  Needless to say, both the therapist and I were very touched by his concern.  [We had been praying for her mother's heart surgery last week.]

I have no idea where the next 90 minutes went, but by 10 AM we were at the park ... with all of our ride-on toys to share with our friends.

9 children (and later 2 more).  3 moms (and later 1 grandma).  Sharing (and learning to share).  Playing with chalk.  Races.  Digging up the tire "mulch" and transporting it in the back of the John Deere ride-on.  Bubbles.  Swings.  And for Little Miss, smiles and happiness as she sat in her stroller.

Tremendously relaxing (seriously).  Perfect temp. Warm (but not yet the intense heat that is on its way).  Nice shade from mature trees.

Pleasant conversation.  Following up on concerns shared last week at play group, catching up on life that's happened this past week.  Looking around to make sure I could see Little Guy.

It was a good summer morning.
