Mom: What do you want for snack, LM? Peanut butter crackers or cheese crackers?
LM: Salad. With walnuts. And k-k-k. {pause} What's the hard stuff?
Mom: Croutons?
LM: Yes! Croutons!
Croutons are her absolute favorite, but she struggles hard to retrieve the word.

Mom: Here's your waffle.
LM: With the pouring on it.
Mom: Oh, you'd like syrup? Can you say, "Mom, may I please have syrup?"

She has amazing compensatory strategies! And her speech therapist assures me we'll get there. :)
