Read your Bible, pray every day...

Maybe you sang that catchy chorus as a child.

Tonight after sitting quietly during family devotions in Dutch, I sat alone in the living room watching* the lights of Tokyo and listening to the background music. First I heard three voices coming from one boy's room, singing "He came from heaven to earth..." in Dutch, and then from a little girl's room, "Read your Bible, pray every day..." in Dutch. In a 980 square foot apartment, it's as if you're all in the same room-!

*note to English teachers on my choice of the verb "watching" as opposed to "looking at" - the lights were moving -- bright, bold neon displays with moving messages & pictures, lights of boats in the bay, lights of the bullet train slowing down as it approached Tokyo station, lights of cars on the expressway, and the lights of Rainbow Bridge changing continually.
