Her First Christmas

:: from the archives ::

She leads a full and active life. Her children are grown. Her husband is nearing retirement. But this year she celebrated her first Christmas ... her first Christmas as one who believes that the Babe in the manger is the Christ, the Savior --- her Savior!

After 16 years in Bible study, this year the light came on, her heart was softened and broken, and she began to worship Christ. At the candlelight service on Christmas Eve, eleven days after her baptism, she was glowing. She opened her Bible and read for me Jesus' words which were the ones that gave her peace in her heart.
Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.
This is Christmas. Christ made himself nothing so that we can pass from death to life.

And this is life between the first coming and second coming. One by one, knees are bowing and tongues are confessing.

Testimonies like this keep us going, knowing that the Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise.
