Singing I go

Singing I go along life’s road,
Praising the Lord, praising the Lord,

For Jesus has lifted my load.

Near the beginning of the worship service we sang (the Japanese translation of) this gospel song.

After the sermon and celebrating the Lord's Supper, we sang (in Japanese, of course), "Here, O my Lord, I see Thee face to face;" to this tune, while the men collected the glass communion cups.

I love this hymn, and was happy to be in the congregation, singing it.

But, in addition, I noticed that one of the men collecting the cups, was putting the earlier song into practice and singing as he went along the aisle, his back to the words which were projected on the front wall.

A sure sign he was raised on hymns!
