How I know it's winter

I dug thick, wool socks out of the closet. I found my winter jacket. I was not too hot wearing it with a wool scarf. I pulled a few more blankets out of the closet last night. I pushed the buttons on the remote control to change the wall-mounted room heat pump from air conditioner to heater and actually turned it on to take the chill out of the air. And I found my packed-away hanten to wear around the house and stay warm. But probably most telling of all, I plugged in the toilet (seat heater).
