Songs of thanksgiving

At our team Thanksgiving Wednesday night, we read and sang this neat arrangement, alternating reading verses from Psalm 65 with singing lines from "We Praise You, O God, Our Redeemer, Creator." "Come, Ye Thankful People, Come," a responsive reading of Psalm 145, and the Doxology (Lasst Uns Erfreuen) rounded out our selections. Our offering of thanks included the kindergartner who thanks God for her school, the teenager who thanks God that she gets to be a missionary kid, and many who thank God for their spouse, family, children, friends, health and God's faithful leading over the years and His personal care during this year. I have received so much more than I deserve, including friends like you. You are on my thankful list! Happy Thanksgiving!

The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food in due season. You open your hand; you satisfy the desire of every living thing. The Lord is righteous in all his ways and kind in all his works. The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them.
