What did Jesus ride on?

What was the significance of Jesus riding a donkey into the City of Zion, Jerusalem?
We mentioned Disney movies and the prince riding in on a white horse. We referred to Jesus sitting on a white horse in John's revelation.
Finally I asked how the Emperor and Empress and the King and Queen of Spain traveled to Tsukuba this week. "They rode the imperial train!"
"How would you have felt if they had ridden the local train?"
"That the Emperor is not a nobleman, but an ordinary person."
And then the light dawned!
"Jesus is like us!"
And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
As we wrapped up our study, one lady said, "Jesus is far away, but He is near me." She appears to be one step closer to her day of salvation.
