I'm back in Chiba. My vacation-plus-two-weeks-writing-leave was wonderful!

The people in the church there chuckled and said it was more like a language immersion course for me ... and a summer missions trip!

• Fun times.
• Good memories.
• New friends.
• Encouraging to see a church with similar vision.
• Good to see rural evangelism in Japan firsthand.
• Cross-pollination that comes from meeting peers.
• 13 lessons completed in a new Bible time series for our English outreach program.
  
• Relaxation that comes from being in a rural setting!
• Enjoying the outdoors - something I cannot do when we have pleasant weather in Chiba (due to allergies).
• Not driving for a month --- aaahhhh!

All of that was wonderful. Yet, turning the key in the front door to my apartment, opening it, and seeing down the hallway and into the living room was wonderful, too. There's no place like home!
