The small group of seven believers gathered in a living room on a weeknight for fellowship around the Word and a time of prayer. One of the questions in the study guide was, "Living as a Christian in the world, how has it been difficult for you, or how have you suffered for trying to live out your faith?"
A married man said that the Lord took care of all of his parents' concerns and opposition years ago, when he and his bride-to-be had their formal meeting with both sets of parents. His future mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and wife are all believers.
The non-believing future father-in-law put the other set of parents' fears to rest in one fell swoop, saying, "I've watched these three live as Christians for several years, and although they don't offer the incense at family funerals, they've never once done anything the relatives thought to be rude." And that paved the way for this soon-to-be-married new believer to be free of family pressure to worship ancestors.
