Before my host left, she was going to teach me a few phrases in German in case anyone called while she is gone.
Up until today the only phone calls have been in Japanese.
Thankfully her German friend who called just now spoke English, probably because it is the official language in Namibia, Africa ... where she was calling from - !
(I've never talked with anyone in Africa before. India, yes. Have you called customer service lately?)
